Most privacy policies are a wall of hereinafters and defined terms. This one tries to be a contract you can actually read in eight minutes. If anything below is unclear or you want a copy of what we hold about you, email support@vydro.app and we'll write back.
Introduction
Welcome to Vydro (“we”, “our”, or “us”). We operate the website at vydro.app and provide a service that automates the repurposing of short-form video content from platforms such as TikTok and Instagram Reels to YouTube Shorts. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information, each tied to a specific function of the service:
- Account Information: your email address and password when you create an account.
- Google / YouTube Data: when you connect your YouTube channel, we receive an OAuth access token and refresh token from Google. We use these solely to upload videos to your YouTube channel on your behalf.
- Content URLs: TikTok and Instagram Reel URLs you submit for repurposing.
- Payment Information: billing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. Stripe processes and stores payment data in accordance with their own privacy policy.
- Usage Data: basic analytics such as pages visited and features used, to improve the service.
How we use your information
Each piece of data we collect serves an operational purpose:
- To provide and operate the Vydro service.
- To upload videos to your connected YouTube channel as instructed by you.
- To process payments and manage your subscription.
- To send transactional emails (e.g., account verification, billing receipts).
- To respond to your support requests.
- To improve and develop our service.
YouTube API services
Vydro uses the YouTube Data API v3 to upload videos on your behalf. By connecting your YouTube account, you authorize us to act on your behalf for that specific purpose.
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can revoke Vydro's access to your YouTube account at any time by visiting your Google Account Permissions page and removing Vydro. You may also disconnect your YouTube channel from within the Vydro dashboard.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following infrastructure providers, each used for one specific purpose:
- Supabase: our database and authentication provider.
- Stripe: our payment processor.
- Google / YouTube: as necessary to fulfill the video upload service.
- Vercel: our hosting platform.
Data retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. YouTube OAuth tokens are stored securely and deleted if you disconnect your YouTube channel or delete your account. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing us at support@vydro.app.
Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure token storage, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
Children's privacy
Vydro is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
